This is a little piece of heaven on earth. If you crave a place where your mind can relax and wander and you can re-connect with nature, this is the place to go! Bring the family for a chance to disconnect from technology or hold a corporate event without the constant intrusion of pop-ups and notifications on smartphones. Or, just stay for a few days and read a book (from that long list you've been compiling) while sitting on the deck with a million dollar view as your back drop.

Congratulations to Justine, Mark and their entire team at Cassiar Cannery. I just received word, in my news feed, that they received the Prince Rupert Tourism Excellence Award. I remember when my husband and I visited Cassiar Cannery, while cycling to Haida Gwaii. All I can say, is this is a well-deserved award for a passionate couple who have created an amazing business. A bucket list location and must visit if you are in northern BC.

Cassiar Cannery is truly and undeniably a very unique lodging. My family and I are very adventurous people and are always looking for the most unique places to stay and Cassiar fit the bill exceedingly well. It is a million dollar view, for less than the hotels in Prince Rupert and in Rupert, you get a very boring stay in a very boring building. We loved everything about Cassiar and we will stay there again. The Steelhead house where we stayed was very nicely appointed and has beautiful first nations framed art that I would love in my home. The large handmade cedar table was a superb added touch for our large family dinner. My girls loved flipping rocks looking for creatures at low tide and playing with Kuma,Betty and Veronica the very docile, gentle dogs. I appreciated the gated entrance which gives your stay that extra feeling of privilege as this is your home while you are at Cassiar. The scenery is exceptional and so nice to be away from the major centre of Prince Rupert. I prefer giving my hard earned cash to a family operation and Cassiar is a family operation. I am very excited about the VIA rail stop that is possible to organize and that maybe how we get there on our next trip from Edmonton. Memories are not made in the chain hotels. Memories are made when you take and adventure from the norm. look no further, a million dollar view for pennies per night.

Wow! Just wow! Cassiar cannery is everything I imagined it to be. And than much much more! We were in sockeye house. The view. Oh my goodness, the view. The beds were comfortable. The water was hot. The kitchen was very well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. A bbq on the deck. I love the little details. Fresh flowers / greenery in the house before our arrival. In antique bottles that I would assume were found on the property. Great quality sheets and towels. Beautiful flowers beds all over the property. We seen otters and porpoises right from the deck. We are dog people. And the 3 dogs on the property just added that extra little sprinkle of perfect for us. They're were super friendly and we enjoyed watching them walk out in the water. Cassair cannery is an amazing place to stay. And we do hope to stay again in the future. Thank you so. Much for sharing your piece of paradise with us. Jennifer

Cassiar Cannery is heaven! I have had the great joy to spend some serious time at Cassiar and I have never regretted a moment of my time there. This amazing spot, just outside of Port Edward and Prince Rupert is easily one of the happiest places on Earth! Cassiar is a former pacific salmon cannery, located at the mouth of the Skeena River, in Inverness Passage. The accommodations there are simply amazing! The cabins are the original management cabins from Cannery days, but renovated and beautiful. Sitting on the deck drinking a coffee or beer and watch fish jump, or herons forage is one of the most perfect experiences of my life. At your disposal is a full kitchen, or a series of amazing meals offered by Cassiar. Cassiar is perfect for whatever you want. Are you looking for a weekend to just get away from everything? Turn off your phone, drink a good bottle of wine and just relax? Cassiar is for you. Looking for a home base to fish, hunt, hike, bear watch, scuba dive, etc.? Cassiar is for you! Looking for a perfect place to lay your head down while you explore the many restaurants and local spots along the north coast? Cassiar is for you. Cassiar is within easy reach of tranquil rivers, amazing fishing, glaciers, lakes, trails, etc etc. The list goes on and on. Whatever you are looking for, you will find at Cassiar. I know I sure did.

Quiet, quaint, and tranquil are the words that come to mind about this place. We stayed here for a weekend with 6 adults and one infant. The red house was plenty of room for all of us to be comfortable, and the environment was breathtaking. With the current state of Rupert and overall lack of amenities, there’s no reason to spend the money on a hotel downtown. This is a much better option by far. It would benefit greatly from a boat launch, but I can understand why that would be challenging. Moreover, be aware that trains pass by regularly, but didn’t seem to bother us at all.

What can I say, sleeping basically on the ocean. Doesn’t get much better than that!! The place was clean, quaint and perfect really. I grew up on the ocean so for my kids to be able to experience something like this is priceless!! I am very grateful that we were able to stay here and would highly recommend!! Staying here was icing on our vacation and worth every penny.
